02/29/08 happy leap year! or is it happy leap day? either way it's the 29th of february so to celebrate i posted some new pics that i took last night! yup, new pics! holy flerking shnit! check them out now! other than that there's really not much going on. not that life is boring these days, far from it! i've just been very busy with work, side projects, wednesday night jazz, all the usual stuff. i do now have a side project website up and running called transblogs. it's kind of a directory of sorts for trangender themed blogs. the site is nowhere near completion and it's still a work in progress so please keep that in mind. but check it out anyway! 01/07/08 first post of the new year, oh yeah! oh no! i just got an email from pandora.com saying they are going to be blocking all UK users of the site. "oh no!" indeed!!! if you don't know, pandora is a fantastic service that creates custom internet radio stations for you based on your taste in music. so, say, type in "the slackers" and you get a radio station based on the band the slackers. and it's the shit! but due to stupid fucking record companies they're going to be blocking listeners in the UK. if you'll notice i've got a banner ad below about saving internet radio. if you've read my site over the past few years or if you know me at all you'll know how much i care about music, and how much i have loved and supported internet radio. for anyone interested, here's the email i received. maybe one day the major record companies will wise up and do what's best for the artists. 09/29/07 can it be true? did it actually happen? YES! new pics are now up for your viewing pleasure! i moved my web site to a new server today (thanks, steve!) and to celebrate i put up some new pics that were taken a few weeks ago at a friend's party, then a club after the party! i just haven't gotten around to taking the usual apartment pics as in all my other photo sets but i wanted to put some new pics up, so you'll get the party pics and you'll like it! i stole all these pics off of one of my friend michael's photo albums on facebook. so thanks michael! along with the new pics is a snazzy new photo display thing-a-ma-job. check out the new pics and you'll see what i mean! i've been quite busy lately so i haven't done a lot to my site in a while, but just so you know i've got a complete redesign in the works, possibly another radio show up soon, and bigger and better things on the horizon! i don't know when i'll have the new site up, it could be a while. i've got a few other projects in the works right now so stay tuned for a new jenibehrens.com at some point, and some cool NEW sites in the not too distant future. i promise! 08/11/07 holy crap it's august! 12/03/06 new photos, yay! funny thing is, i took them last night, which was exactly one year from the time i last took photos for my site. a year is a long time, i can't believe i went that long without adding new pics to the site, but it's been a hell of a year! this photo set is actually kind of a big deal for me, even though it's only nine new pics. but i've officially gone wigless! for the last three years i've been growing my hair out, and while it certainly isn't the most gorgeous hair in the world, it is all mine! it's still a work in progress but i've got to say it feels really good to be able to be a bit more natural. this is also the first set of pictures i've taken since moving to liverpool. the lighting in my apartment really sucks for taking pictures, and i don't have access just yet to the light kit i used to use when taking pictures, so the pics are a bit grainy. deal with it! maybe by the next set of pictures i'll have a better lighting solution worked out, and hopefully that won't be a year from now! now make sure you check out my new pics! 10/26/06 yeah i know, i'm a slacker. i haven't updated my site in a while. deal with it! so here's a super quick update. i'm still having a blast in liverpool and i've been loving living in the uk overall. i bought an old mini a few months ago to replace the mini i had in the us. this car is a go-kart! it's so much fun to drive. it needs a little work and tlc, but then again, so do i! other than that there's not too much to report. i've been able to make some good friends here and of course i miss my friends in the usa as well. i've been able to have a night out in blackpool and i traveled to london to see the slackers, what a great show! new pictures will get posted, uh, eventually! 07/04/06 happy fourth of july! today was just tuesday for me, this being the first time i've had a july fourth outside of the USA. so today i celebrated my independance from my british co-workers! ha! they were good sports about it though. i just wanted to post a little update today to let everyone know i'm still alive and have been enjoying liverpool very much. i finally have my apartment all digitally hooked up, so i've now got internet and satellite tv at home. i've got to say UK television at night is a bit, err, racy to say the least! but i for one think it's refreshing, i mean, who cares if you can watch boobs on the telly? anyway, things are going great, i'll get some new pics up eventually, i'm still working on the lighting for the pics in my new place! 06/02/06 i'm now living in england! i arrived at stansted airport last saturday morning, and after a mad dash of 95 mph driving in a minivan full of luggage and boxes (my first time driving in the UK as well!) i made it just in time to the estate agents office to pick up the keys to my new place in liverpool city centre. i got there about three minutes before they were going to close! things have been verrrry hectic this week trying to get everything all set up, but i really love my new apartment. it's brand new, very modern, and the location can't be beat. hopefully i'll have some new pictures up soon of me in my new place and you'll be able to check it out, too! it's been a bit frustrating trying to get things set up like a phone line, mobile phone, internet, etc, but i'm getting there, just a bit slowly. so right now i don't have internet access at home, or more than five tv channels or any of those modern luxuries. i've got internet access at work, though, so i'll still be able to answer emails and what not. this has been, and continues to be, quite an adventure! and as sad as it was to leave such good friends in the US, i know they will always be a huge part of my life and i look forward to meeting many great new people here in the UK. 04/20/06 as far as news goes, this update is pretty huge! yes, the rumors are true, i'm moving to england! i got back from my latest trip earlier this week. the purpose of that trip was to find a place to live, and i certainly accomplished that mission! i'm going to be living in liverpool, right in the city centre. in fact, all the clubs i'll be heading to are only a few blocks away from where i'm living, but then again, it seems that everything cool in the city centre is only a few blocks away from where i'm living! the primary reason i'm moving is for work, but on a personal level i'm really excited about the move as well. with all my trips to the UK over the past year, i've really grown to love the country and people. it's somewhat bittersweet, though, having to leave my life here, (and my mini cooper!) but at the very least this move is going to be an adventure! 02/20/06 oh my, what a trip! i got back from my latest trip overseas this past saturday, this one brought me to amsterdam to start off the trip, then on to liverpool as usual for work. let me just say this, you hear a lot about amsterdam, how cool the city is, how nice the people are, and it's all TRUE! it's an absolutely incredible city. the winding streets and alleys, the local charm, and of course the coffee shops! i did actually spend a little time in the coffee shops, i mean, when in rome. . . but there's so much more to the city than weed and prostitution. (the red light district is pretty cool, though!) i was only there for two days, but i was able to get out on saturday night and headed to a place called lellebel. it's a small bar that caters to the transgendered community, full of tgirls, admirers, and just more friendly people. i made a few friends that night, and, uh, i'll just leave it at that! ;-) monday it was off to liverpool. i had a busy work week as usual down in our office in runcorn, and i got down to london for a day as well. i've got to say that the more i travel to the UK the more i just feel at home. last friday i had to get out on the town a bit in liverpool and to make things pretty darn convenient the hotel i was staying at was only a few blocks away from all the clubs. i started off the night at the masquerade bar, pretty uneventful but good music and a hopping crowd. from there i went to superstar boudoir and was treated like gold by the staff. (and if anyone from the club reads this, i'd be happy to make your website!) i had a great time there just drinking and chatting with random people. i've got to thank the staff who really made me feel like a superstar. i've been posting some thoughts on my profiles on myspace and tvchix, all the liverpool area girls who make the trip up to manchester to go out are missing out on some great times in their own city. i think it seems weird that an out of towner like myself would want to build up the scene there more than the locals, but you can't have a scene if you don't go out there! i've been out in manchester a few times, albeit not out late and i haven't been to that many places, but it seems that people focus so much on manchester and don't even look around for other places to go. but liverpool, i love ya! i'll party with the scousers any day of the week! 02/10/06 the media loves me. . . again! my friend angel and i are once again in the metro weekly. check out the picture! it's the one on the top right. a few hours from now i'll be heading to amsterdam, oh yeah! i'm really looking forwad to seeing the city and checking out the various "local delicacies". ;-) sadly i only have two days there, but then it's off to liverpool for the rest of next week. i'm looking forward to this trip, though, i think it's gonna be a good one! 01/01/06 happy new year! to celebrate the new year i made a new radio show. listen now! 12/19/05 today i finally gave up on my old yahoo account. i kept trying to get into it but i was never able to and yahoo never got back to me about it. oh well, life goes on! so i created a new yahoo id. as of today, 12/19/05, my new yahoo id is: jenibehrens make note of it! i actually am kind of glad i got a new id, i like this one better than the old one. 12/03/05 new pictures! woo hoo! i took them last night before having a fun night with a sharpie and a piece of paper. take a look . . . 12/02/05 PLEASE READ! this morning i became aware that someone has hacked my yahoo account. as far as i can tell it happened about 4:00 am this morning. my password has been changed and i can no longer get into my yahoo mail, yahoo messenger or any other yahoo stuff. i've informed yahoo of what happened so we'll just have to see how things go from here. i'm not really sure what is going on with my account. i don't know if it was a spammer who got into my account to send spam from it, or if it is someone who wants to get into my account to pretend to be me, both of those things have happened to me in the past. if anyone has received any email or instant messages from my yahoo account (jenigrrl2000) please let me know! i haven't sent any email from that address or even logged into yahoo messenger in a while. so if you're currently getting stuff from the jenigrrl2000 account, it's not coming from me! if anyone gets any email or instant messages please forward them to the email address on my contact page. i want to catch the fucker that did this! as soon as i have regained control of my yahoo account i'll post it here. thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. 11/13/05 jeni is back! well, i never really went anywhere. to be honest i just got lazy about updating my web site. it happens and it's free for you so i don't want to hear any bitching about it! let's see, what's new? actually a lot is new since the last time i posted anything here. i've got a new car, woo hoo! i bought a mini cooper in august and damn do i love that car! i've never been the type of person to be into cars but i found this one and fell in love. now if i could just find a boy to fall in love with i'd be all set! i've also been travelling to england quite a bit. if anyone out there lives in the liverpool or manchester areas and has any suggestions of where to hang out please let me know. i've got to say i like it over there a lot. i've had fun going out to the clubs over there and have found the people in the uk to be great. as a final update i'm sure everyone wants to see new pics. well, i posted some pictures today but i can't say that they are exactly new, but they are new to you! i posted a few random pictures i've taken in the past few months along with some photos i messed with in photoshop, some photos i just thought were cool and a couple photos i've taken recently. make sure you check out the new pics! hopefully i'll have a new set of photos up soon, life has just been hectic lately. i can't make any promises, but i'll try. 07/10/05 did you notice i changed the main picture that loads after you enter my site? no? well i did! if you want to see it again just click the jeniweb logo. i took the pic when i was making a new graphic for the radio section, so that's why i'm wearing the big headphones. i also added even more links to the links section today. so get clicking! 06/30/05 links, links and more links! i decided to beef up my links section today with a few of my favorite sites. get your mouse ready for some damn good clicking! take a look now! 05/08/05 new pics! well, not exactly new, eh, uh, well, i'm a lazy girl, and i took some pics a couple of weeks ago and never got around to posting them. hey, it's my site and i'll get around to updating it when i damn well please! and tonight, i damn well pleased! i took the pics before i headed out on a saturday night, and included is a pic of me at the club with my friends jose and scott. click here to check out the new pics! in other news, i added a new graphic to the radio section. the graphic comes up in real player when you listen to a show and it's pretty damn cool if i say so myself! 04/30/05 time for some new tunes! i added a new radio show to the "radio" section today. listen now! 04/16/05 i got a new toy! no, no, no, not THAT kind of toy! my, you've got a dirty mind! i got a new digital camera this week, a canon powershot a95. it's freakin' sweet! i wasn't planning on taking new pictures for my web site just yet, but last night i was messing around with the camera taking some pictures around my apartment, and i liked the way they came out so i decided to put them online. since i was just messing around with the camera and not planning on posting the pics, a few of them are a little blury and the colors might be a little off (even after some photoshop touch-ups), but overall i think they're pretty good pics. click here to check them out! 04/12/05 usually these news updates of mine are of a positive or funny nature. today's isn't. it has recently come to my attention that someone has been impersonating me in the chatrooms at URNotAlone. the impostor didn't log in to my account or anything, but took advantage of the fact that the chat rooms do not require you to log in just to enter the room. the chatrooms also allow you to put web addresses and profile information in your chat profile while you are in the chatroom. the impostor put my name, the town where i live, my age and my web site address in their profile and was apparently passing themselves off as me. at one point i even had someone add me as a friend on yahoo saying they were chatting with me earlier in the day when i hadn't been in those chatrooms for a very, very long time. so i reported the problem to the chat room monitor and proved to the chatroom who the real jeni behrens was. and like the frightened turtle scum that the bastard is, the impostor immediatly bolted out of the chat room. i then went back later in the day and logged in anonymously, only to find that the asshole was back in the chatroom, once again using the name "jenibehrens". upon confronting the jerk, he once again bolted from the chatroom. so i'll just say this: URNotAlone chat profiles for people who have URNotAlone accounts look different from the people who just log in to the chatroom without being a URNotAlone member. i have an account at URNotAlone. if you see me (or someone pretending to be me) in the chatroom, please look at the profile. if it's the real me (and hopefully it is!) the profile will include links to my web site, my URNotAlone profile, and a link from URNotAlone for sending me email through their web site. it will also say "USER TYPE: REGISTERED MEMBER". be careful though, the dipshit that filled out the fake profile with my info put "registered" in there somewhere to make it look official. but there's no way to fake the three links i mentioned earlier. if you see the impostor give them hell!!! if you see me, say hi! hopefully this will all just go away. 04/03/05 it's opening day of baseball, so i'll keep this short and sweet. GO RED SOX! 03/26/05 lemon juice gives me power! 03/12/05 OUCH! it hurts being a girl! actually, it hurts having a laser shot at your face! yesterday i had my first laser hair removal treatment on my face and neck, the first of five that will be spread out over the next year. don't listen to what certain web sites may say about the procedure, even after having numbing cream on the treatment areas for an hour it still hurts when they start zapping. oh well, i guess anything worth doing is never easy! i'm actually doing really good after the treatment, a little ice, aloe and a beer or two at night got me feeling pretty good. and today there's only a little bit of redness. in other news. . .well there really isn't any other news! just waiting for the warmer weather to get here, scooter riding season is just around the corner! 01/15/05 the media loves me! not only was i pictured in the november 26 issue of the washington blade, (sadly that pic is not available on their web site and my scanner is broken so i can't scan it in!) but i was also in the metro weekly again! loyal readers of this news section will remember i was in the metro weekly back in october. click here to see my latest metro weekly pic! 01/01/05 happy new year! normally i'm pretty casual in the stuff i wear so last night i glammed it up a little to go out for new years. to mark the occasion i took some new pics to show off the outfit. check them out! 12/06/04 it's been a long, long time, but tonight i added some new pics! this is the first set of photos that i've taken since i moved into this apartment in august. phew, a long time, i know, but they are worth waiting for. enjoy! 11/20/04 happy birthday to me! 10/28/04 THE RED SOX WON!!! the sox finally did it last night after waiting 86 years for a world series. all i can say is holy crap! growing up a red sox fan this is kind of an awkward position to be in, not used to winning! but congrats to the team and to all the faithful red sox fans out there. but enough about sports, i have added a new radio section to my web site! periodically i'll be adding new samples of music i've been listening to in 1/2 hour shows. hopefully i won't get sued because of it! basically i just thought it would be fun to share some of the stuff i like and hopefully turn some people on to some new music. i also don't know if the section will stay up long, the shows tend to take up a lot of web space, so we'll have to see what happens. check it out! 10/07/04 it's about time the media started paying attention to me! last friday night i went out with my good friend angel to this club called apex in dc. there was a photographer there from a local magazine and he took our picture. it appeared today in the online and print versions of the magazine. click here to check it out! our pic is the 5th one down on the right. and to make things even better, in the print version of the magazine our pic is on page 69. . .ha! 10/05/04 GO RED SOX! 08/21/04 moving sucks! but new apartments are cool! i moved into my new place about three weeks ago and i've got to say that this place is much better than my old one. i still have a little bit to do around here, but for the most part i'm settled in. i'll have to take some new pics soon in the new place. i made a few adjustments to my web page this morning. i wrote some new code for the up and down arrows on the right, so hopefully everyone can see them now. if you are having any difficulty getting around my site please let me know! i also added a few more links on my links page. 07/18/04 it has been a verrry long time since i added any news updates or anything to my site, but this is a big one! in case you can't tell (or if you are a new visitor to my site) i have a brand new web page! woo hoo! i had the urge to redesign my page a long time ago, and after much procrastination and messing around with a few different designs, i finally got this one done. you like it? sad to say i guess not that much has changed since the last news update on my old site. i moved earlier this year to a new apartment, and i'm probably going to be moving again in a few weeks. i really hate moving around like this but i realized after being in this apartment for about six months that a i needed a bigger (and better) place to call home. in other news i'm still single, but then again that really isn't news is it! i did have a boyfriend for a while last year but that is long over, almost a year ago in fact. but hey, the single life doesn't bother me at all. i've been going out just about every weekend and have made some really good friends this year. just about every saturday i can be found at ziegfelds in dc. i have also been going to nation on occasion, but those turn into some really late nights! all in all i've got to say life is good! i've often promised this in the past but i really am going to try to update this section more often. along with a brand new web site i've also posted some brand new pics. if you feel like saying hello, feel free to contact me. hope you enjoy my new site!
